About Embassy

Diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Poland was established in April 1957 and the Embassy of Sri Lanka commenced operations in Warsaw in 1999. Since then, the two countries had been demonstrating cordial friendly relations, steadfastly growing to a higher level with a number of high- level visits between the two countries, culminating with the visits of Foreign Minister of Sri Lanka to Poland in 2024 and subsequently the visit of the Foreign Minister of Poland to Sri Lanka in 2025 in the context of EU Presidency. Political consultations between the two countries and such high-level visits contributed to enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries in multifaceted areas, including culture, and people to people exchanges.

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Poland is also accredited to Bulgaria. Sri Lanka and Bulgaria had been continuing friendly relations, since the establishment of diplomatic relations in June 1962. An Honorary Consul had been also appointed to Bulgaria since August 2012.

There are approximately 4,000 Sri Lankans residing in Poland and around 500 in Bulgaria.
